Dear Saint Bernard School Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! I hope that you and your families had a relaxing summer and everyone is excited about the new school year. I am confident this year will be a wonderful learning experience where all of us continue to grow in faith and knowledge. Today continues our journey together. It continues to be my vision that the school faculty and staff, along with our parents and parish community, will work hand in hand in providing the best Catholic education for our children at Saint Bernard School.
The past week has been very fruitful for the faculty and staff. We have learned many new and exciting things, set personal goals, prepared our classrooms and have taken time to pray together for a successful year. In addition to our regular items, we have spent time in prayer reflecting upon our theme of gratitude this year. We look forward to establishing an “attitude of gratitude” for the entire school community during this exciting school year.
Today starts our weekly blue envelope communication system that will be sent home each Wednesday. I encourage you to review the materials sent home in the packet and respond to any needed items each week in a timely manner. It is important that necessary items are returned to school as soon as possible along with the blue envelope.
Included in this blue envelope is a complete calendar that includes many more dates, events and meetings that were not on the summary calendar sent home in May. In addition to this complete yearly calendar, each month, the school calendar will be sent home for you to review and keep track of important dates for the upcoming month. This calendar will include all of the complete calendar information along with more recent updates or changes. I will also send home my weekly ‘News and Gentle Reminders’ page that includes pertinent information and dates for the upcoming 10 days.
Information regarding the 2010-2011 Saint Bernard School Parent/Student Handbook is also included in this week’s blue envelope. Please take time to review this information and return the completed last page to your child’s teacher that gives out the blue envelope by Friday, September 3rd.
As we start this wonderful school year together, please know that you and your family are in my prayers. Please keep the entire school faculty, staff, students and community in yours.
